THINGS will be going bump in the night at the theatre as Davenham and Sandiway Players tackle their next Guardian Rosebowl production.

For their latest show the cast get their teeth sunk into Antony Moore's Vampyre.

Set in a small village, miles from absolutely anywhere, life is going on as usual for the residents.

The pub sells its two pints a week, the squire's gardener works only at night and the sexiest person in the world delivers the milk every morning at about 3am.

Enter a professor in search of a vampire and a handsome but incredibly stupid young hero and the complications begin and twist and turn until the plot is completely braided.

The cast is made up of an eccentric mid-European professor (Bob Almquist) who hunts vampires, an irritating young barmaid (Jo Crawford) who serves vampires, a handsome but stupid young visitor (James Bickerton) who does not know what a vampire is, and a highly suspicious local (Frank Leather) who knows what a vampire is but cannot quite explain why.

A sultry young milk deliverer with dark hair and green eyes (Dot Crone) also who delivers every morning at 3am is "helping the professor with his enquiries."

Director Graham said: "It's a bloody good comedy and you would be a clot not to see it. I give it an A positive rating."

If you want to know who the real vampire is then come the show starts tonight, Wednesday 21 and runs to March 24.

Tickets, priced £6, can be booked by ringing 01606 74127.
