EVESHAM'S Under-7s travelled to Cheltenham to play in a triangular event alongside the hosts and Weston-Super-Mare.
They faced Cheltenham A in the opener and, after falling behind to two quick scores, re-grouped and replied through Tom Symonds and James Cross.
Trailing 4-2 at half-time, Evesham's tackling improved and they only allowed Cheltenham to score one more try.
However, the visitors could only manage two more courtesy of Sean Leahy and James Cross in a 5-4 defeat.
The superb tackling continued against Cheltenham B who were restricted to just two tries.
A fine individual effort from Leahy ensured Evesham were just one behind at the break after which both sides crossed again with Ryan Keyte the Evesham scorer.
In the final game against Weston, Evesham traded tries through Symonds, Leahy and Keyte to be level at half-time.
Weston scored first after the restart but Leahy touched down after a fine run by Matt Farrell.
Evesham then bravely defended their line with all the team making excellent tackles but Weston eventually broke through to seal a 5-4 win.
