DELICIOUS recipes are on the menu for a fundraising cookery demonstration session, in Hanley Swan Village Hall, on Tuesday, April 24.

Raspberry meringue roulade, lemon soufflé and warm chicken salad are among tasty Summer dishes to be cooked up by trained chef Mary Jenkins.

Mrs Jenkins, of Bellars Lane, used to run her own cookery school in Malvern, and gave many demonstrations from her own kitchen.

The event will raise funds for Breast Cancer Research, and Clic Sargent Cancer and Leukaemia in Children, and will help a campaign launched by Andy Waite, partner of Mrs Jenkin's daughter.

Mr Waite, from Twickenham, climbed Mount Kilimanjaro in March, to raise funds for the Clic Sargent charity, which helped his nephew Matthew recover from cancer, when he was just 18 months old.

"Andy did his climb to raise money, so I wanted to do something to help," said Mrs Jenkins.

"The recipes are easy to make, and are nice light Summer dishes."

The demonstration begins at 2.30pm, and admission is £6, including tea and cake.

All dishes will be raffled off at the end of the event.

Bookings can be made in advance, through Mary, on 01684 572256, or tickets can be bought on the door.
