Herefordshire Under-14 12 pts Greater Birmingham Under-14 10 HEREFORDSHIRE completed an unbeaten season with a hard fought victory over Greater Birmingham at Ledbury.

Herefordshire were finally rewarded for their control when play was switched to the right and quick awareness from Alex Lane and Luke Sparrow saw winger George Nedik finish off in the corner and Lane added a superb conversion.

Herefordshire continued their pressure and scored a second try when good ball was won by the forwards for centre Charlie Bird to loop winger Scrivens to score in the corner for a 12-0 half-time lead As expected, the visitors came out strongly in the second half and despite a very good Herefordshire defence the pressure paid off with an unconverted try.

As the second half drew on, Herefordshire came back into the game and had chances to win it, including number eight Barnaby Woods being held up on the line.

However, with about 10 minutes on the clock the visiting openside back row took an interception on his own 22 and ran almost the length of the pitch to touch down. The conversion was was missed, but at 12-10 the score set up a nervous last few minutes for both sides.
