IN reply to Peter Johnston's letter of April 17, "Power of Police not altered by do-gooders", I wish to disagree, as I am sure most people will.
It isn't the fault of the police, as they are now bogged down by paperwork, reports and red tape.
Police presence on our streets is now almost non existent.
Yes I agree there are too many offenders in prison, enjoying good food, satellite TV and the use of a gym, at the taxpayers expense.
Any non threatening prisoners should be made to work in the community, rather than being a burden on the honest, hard working taxpayer.
Do you think political correctness would allow this to happen Mr Johnston? No, neither do I.
