With reference to Bill Landucci's letter Appreciation would be nice' (Echo, April 16), it is a pity that the Sureline Bus Verne Common service has been so underused that the company can no longer maintain it. No company, however public spirited can afford to run at a loss.
These days when going into Weymouth I use the bus service in preference to driving my car as it is efficient, saves searching for somewhere to park and cheaper than paying parking charges.
I was particularly grateful for the Dorchester Hospital Service following a trip the hospital in an ambulance after car accident when it was feared that my neck might have been broken.
Having been checked and found to be suffering from no more than minor bruising I would have been stranded in Dorchester without transport but there, waiting on the doorstep was the Sureline Bus ready to take me home.
Dear Sureline - you really are appreciated, thank you!
Carenza Hayhoe, Portland.
