CAR boot sale: The car boot sale at The Vyne Community School on Sunday, April 1, was a great success, with more than 40 sellers and a very large number of bargain hunters.

It is planned to hold them on the first Sunday of the month at present. However, if there is a demand, they may become weekly.

The next one is on Sunday, May 6, from 11am to 2pm. Sellers can arrive from 10am for £5 per car, and buyers will be welcomed in at 11am.

VYNE events: Coming up at The Vyne school, on April 19, is the Girls' Tag Rugby Festival.

On Monday, April 23, it is the Year 8 history trip and on Tuesday, April 24, it's BHF junior golf day.

On Monday, April 30, there's a geography field trip.

The school governors are pleased to be able to continue to subsidise student bus passes for pupils who live in Chineham.

Letters will be sent out in June setting out the amount of parental contribution required.

BOLLARDS: I've noticed that bollards have been put up on the pavement outside the Oakridge store on one side of the road and outside the fish shop on the other.

This should make crossing safer and keep lorries and vans from parking on the pavement.

HALL: The next gymnastics sessions at Oakridge Hall for All will start again on April 18 for six weeks from 5pm to 6pm.

For more information, call 01256 353858.

Also at the hall there is an aerobics class every Tuesday, from 8pm to 9pm, where you can get fit, enjoy yourself and make new friends.
