Mary Hoffman, who lives in Brize Norton, first garnered awards for a picture book, Amazing Grace, and then for her bestselling children's fantasy series Stravaganza. Her latest book, The Falconer's Knot (Bloomsbury, £12.99) is set in 14th-century Umbria.
