A WOMAN who took her Pershore employer to an industrial tribunal lost her case - after she failed to turn up for the hearing.

Claire Wheeler, aged 30, of Droitwich, was sacked from her position with Harper's Dog Grooming Salon in Pershore High Street after 18 months for undercharging clients.

She lodged a compensation claim against the salon for sick pay, pay in lieu of notice and holiday pay but did not turn up before the industrial tribunal in Birmingham last week.

Salon owner Lyn Kirk said she had sacked Mrs Wheeler after a number of alleged discrepancies. "She undercharged some clients for grooming their dogs but charged another woman too much," she said.

"The woman paid £40 for two dogs to be groomed but when she returned home she realised only one had been done."

Tribunal chairman Roger Balmain dismissed Mrs Wheeler's claim and also rejected an application for costs from Ms Kirk.
