I read the Labour election leaflet as promoted by Kevin Small and cannot believe the duplicity Labour can stoop to.

It mentions the massive 20 per cent four-year hike in council tax by the Conservatives. Er, what was Labour's six-year figure?

Also the bulk of the 35 per cent increase in funding was during Labour's six years.

The big sell off!! Should we forget the Brunel Centre and the fact that of the £90 million earned, £40 million was used to repay Labour's borrowing on it.

Selling the silver is something Labour are used to but after their control we don't have much left to sell.

There were many proposals to improve Swindon.

The question is why didn't Labour do this before?

It's simple, talk is cheap and they have proved a Labour council with a Labour government does not amount to anything.

We no longer own our hospital.

We don't have enough NHS dentists to cover the thousands thrown out of NHS dentistry when the new contracts came out.

To cap it all, for a party opposed to hereditary, we have an heir to the post of Prime Minister.

R Harris.
