Organisers of a popular half marathon have run out of space for competitive runners but there is still room for anyone who wants to walk it - and raise cash for a good cause at the same time.

Village routes will be pounded by runners on April 1 when the 13th Baildon Boundary Way Half-Marathon takes to the streets.

Entries for this year's run closed earlier than ever before according to race director John Cawley who said the event's fame was spreading far and wide. But there is still plenty of time for anyone wanting to walk the route to enter right up until the day itself.

Last year the half-marathon raised £2,100 for charity which was divided equally between children's cancer charity Candlelighters and Water-Aid.

This year organisers Baildon Runners are hoping to beat it with money from the 2007 event being split between Candlelighters and an appeal to build a sensory corner in the home of five-year-old Shipley boy Joel Harrison, who has severe epilepsy and cerebral palsy.

To find out more about the event either telephone 07949 819626 or log on to Baildon Runner's website at www.baildonrunners.tk.

The club, which is open to runners of all standards, is based at Baildon's Rugby and Cricket Sports Club in Jenny Lane.
