ST EGWIN'S have been crowned champions of the Under-13 Girls County Football League.

The Evesham Middle School faced title rivals Blessed Edward (Worcester) in the deciding game and two goals from Rosie Johns secured the championship in front a big crowd.

The Saints won all nine games scoring 51 goals and conceding just 12 but their chances of lifting the prestigious title were dependent on their final match against the league's other unbeaten side.

However, captain Johns gave the hosts a first half lead from the penalty spot after she had been fouled following a mazy run.

It was 2-0 at the break after Johns netted again after a sweeping passing move involving Natasha Bryant and Bethany Guy.

Blessed Edward came out strong in the second half but they were prevented from getting back into the match by some stout defending that ultimately decided the destiny of the title.
