TWO pharmacies are helping fight poverty by prescribing a fundraising initiative.
The Co-operative pharmacy branches in York Road and the Fens shopping parade, in Hartlepool, are asking people to recycle their old mobile phones to raise money for Oxfam and are providing freepost recycling bags. The scheme also includes ink cartridges.
Each mobile phone that Oxfam recycles is worth about £5 and cartridges raise £1. The funds enable the charity to fight poverty worldwide.
