SPEEDING MOTORCYCLISTS are continuing to blight the area, new figures have revealed.

10 bikers were caught speeding in Carmarthenshire during a recent campaign to halt bikers exceeding the speed limit.

In total, nine of the motorcyclists were caught doing more than 100mph.

All offenders were issued with a summons to attend court.

Chief Inspector Phil Davies, of the Operations Department, said he was horrified by the findings.

"It is beyond words that motorcycle users would put themselves, their pillion riders and other road users at enormous risk of serious injury or being killed.

"We will not tolerate the mis-use of the road network within our force area and people must be able to feel that they can travel on our roads safely without fear or being harmed or experiencing anti social behaviour by what is a small minority of bikers."

Chief Inspector Davies added bikers riding anti-socially run the risk of having their bikes seized by officers.

"We will continue to target this particular group and maximise enforcement efforts."
