Ryuichi Kiyonari and Leon Haslam continue their scrap for the Bennetts British Superbike crown on the high speed Thruxton circuit in what is certain to be a power packed second round thriller on Sunday.

The exciting young Japanese rider is determined to stamp his authority on these races having last season seen his HM Plant Honda outgunned by the Airwaves Ducatis in the hands of double race winner Gregorio Lavilla and Leon Haslam who finished second in each race. It promises to be a real power struggle, but there is much more than a straight forward duel for supremacy to look forward to. Jonathan Rea, who has moved into the factory Honda team, has taken everyone by surprise by his pace in testing, and the 20-year old Ulsterman has set himself the task of an opening round double en route to the crown. Adding to this, the introduction of three young-guns,' all graduating from the British Supersport series should bring lively racing. Cal Crutchlow, the champion, rides for Rizla Suzuki, paired with the returning force of Chris Walker, who having four times been the runner-up in domestic action is keen to go one better. Tom Sykes lines up in Stobart Vent Axia Motorsport colours partnering Shane Byrne, who has returned to ride for Paul Bird's Honda team with whom he won the title three years ago.

Around the two Bennetts British Superbike races, there are the second rounds of the British Supersport Championship; British 125GP Championship; Metzeler Racetec National Superstock Championship and Cup and the Virgin Media Cup.
