A NURSERY is one of the first winners of new annual awards introduced by Lewisham Council.
Conerstone Day Nursery, Jews Walk, Sydenham, won the Team of the Year award at a ceremony in the Civic Suite, Catford.
The prize was one of 13 given out as part of the Lewisham Excellence in Childcare Awards.
Nursery staff manager Sandra Raymond nominated the team.
Toddler key worker Nioka Fearon, 20, said: "This award gave me great motivation because I want to win another award next year."
The other awards included Childminder of the Year, Nursery Setting of the Year, Early Years Practitioner of the Year and the Mayor's Award for Outstanding Achievement.
