Not inclined to dwell on what might have been Crymych officials, players and supporters were understandably optimistic over the future after the Preselimen brought down the curtain on their Division 4 West campaign with five wins on the bounce.

The latest success elevated Gareth Davies and Co into third behind champions Llanybydder and promoted Cardigan, and it is generally accepted that but for earlier inconsistencies the north Pembrokeshire villagers would be hosting Division 3 West clubs next time around.

After a 21-0 win over Pembroke secretary Gordon Eynon said "It has been largely a season of development for our young side, and we are hoping to build on this next time."
