Kidlington drew a blank at Wokingham on Saturday as they collapsed to a 28-run defeat against the leg-spin of Australian Daniel Doran in the Home counties Premier League Division 2 Having inserted the home side, Kidlington reduced them to 194 all out, with Dave Taylor taking 5-72 from 15 overs.

Kidlington, who had 62 overs to win the game, had the benefit of a flying start as Taylor and Andy Oliver raced to 50 without loss inside nine overs.

At tea they seemed on course for victory, needing just another 142 runs with all wickets intact.

But it all went pear- shaped after the break as Doran, who bowled unchanged, ripped out the top order with five wickets, as Kidlington collapsed limply to 166 all out with eight overs left.
