Oxford Lions youngster, 15-year-old Adam Raphall, was seriously ill in the John Radcliffe Hospital last night following a horrifying crash during the Conference Trophy meeting against Weymouth.
Promoter Aaron Lanney, who was with Adam's family at the hospital, said: "It was bad.
"The incident happened just in front of me. He was chasing George Piper who slid off and, as Adam tried to avoid him, he straightened up and went head first in to the fence and somersaulted over the top and landed on the concrete.
"He has a compact leg fracture and although he came round for a few minutes, the doctors sedated him.
Oxford won the meeting 57-34.
