Worcestershire bowler Gareth Andrew dropped in on youngsters at Dorchester as part of the OCA side’s first summer cricket camp.
The 26-year-old paceman, who has also been a destructive batsmen in this season’s Friends Provident Twenty20 competition, helped with coaching and brought along one of his unique long-handled Mongoose bats.
The visit was arranged by Gareth’s father, Peter, who is chairman of Dorchester.
He said: “This was part of a strategic goal to set up a youth section from 2011.
“Everybody who plays cricket for Dorchester knows that without a flourishing youth side the club can fall away in five to ten years. All the kids seemed to enjoy the day and by the end of it were really middling their pull and cut shots.”
