Rhian Todd claimed 4-22 to inspire Oxfordshire Under 15 girls to a 53-run victory over Berkshire in the ECB County Championship at Kingston Bagpuize.
After winning the toss and choosing to bat, Oxfordshire quickly found themselves in trouble at 25-4 against a lively opening attack.
But a partnership of 90 between Chloe Dowhunek (38) and Abi Currie (29) started the recover, and with useful contributions down the order, Oxon reached 172-9 from their 35 overs.
Oxon’s opening attack lacked their usual spark, but Todd and Emilia Bartram quickly changed things as Berkshire were reduced to 49-7.
The visitors managed to reach 119 all out, with Rose-Emily Beck taking 3-3 to wrap up victory.
l OXFORDSHIRE Under 13 girls maintained their 100 per cent record with a comfortable seven-wicket victory over Berkshire at Chalgrove.
The visitors won the toss and opted to bat, but Oxon’s opening bowlers Carla Wood and Laura Marshall soon had them in trouble at 17-3.
Berkshire batted watchfully after that, but further wickets from Marshall, who finished with 4-8, and Juliet Gardner (3-18) saw the visitors bowled out for 56.
Gardner then led Oxon’s response, top-scoring with 21 not out.
Wood hit the winning runs in the 15th over.
The result puts Oxon second in the ECB Under 13 Girls South League, with their next match against leaders Hampshire.
