Jacob Hughes top-scored with 30 and then took brilliant figures of 6-19, but still ended up on the losing side as Minster Lovell lost their Oxfordshire Under 13 Group B clash against North Cotswold by one wicket.

Hughes helped Minster to a respectable 112-5 from their 20 overs.

But despite his six-wicket haul, North Cotswold scrambled home at 113-9.

The race for the title is hotting up.

In Group A, the top-of-the-table clash between Bicester & North Oxford and Shipton A saw Bicester emerge narrow nine-run victors.

Ryan Moore (32) and Patrick Starrett (31) saw Bicester to 124-7 from their 20 overs, before Harry Card took 4-21 as Shipton were held to 115-7.

Kennington earned an eight-wicket win over Eynsham, Kieren Beesley taking 3-10 and Nick Wilks making 32 not out.

Aston Rowant stayed top in Group D after an emphatic win over Cumnor.

Rafe Garrett (33no) and Joe Hill (32no) led the way in Rowant’s 132-0, before Cumnor were shot out for 49.

l REIGNING champions Oxford remained unbeaten in the Oxfordshire Under 11 League with an eight-wicket victory over Thame.

Sheraz Mehmood and Sulaiman Hussain took three wickets each as Thame posted 54-8 from 16 overs, Oxford knocking the runs off for the loss of two wickets.

Banbury defeated Bicester & North Oxford by 15 runs.

Jack Briggs and Thomas Bunting each made 25 in their 78-3, before Morgan Bardon took 3-12 as Bicester fell 15 runs short.

Tom Clutterbuck took 3-18 to help Combe to an 18-run win at Charlbury.
