OXFORDSHIRE Under 14s slipped to a disappointing defeat in a rain-affected ECB County Cup clash against Wales in Newport.
In a game reduced to 25 overs per side, Oxon put in a superb bowling performance to dismiss their hosts for just 122, only for their batting to let them down.
Oxon put Wales in to bat and skipper Sasha Barras and Josh Megson both collected three wickets.
A target of 123 for victory should have been within Oxon’s reach, but only Michael Forrest and Henry Sensecall were able to shine as they were restricted to just 97-8 in reply.
