RUGBY UNION: Bowers points to errors

Chinnor coach Jason Bowers wasn’t totally downcast after his side’s fifth home league defeat out of five.

He said: “I thought there were some areas where we looked really composed and organised.

“There were some key areas where we allowed them to capitalise on our mistakes, which they scored from.

“The guys work hard all week to play on Saturday. When they don’t perform to their potential, it is frustrating for them.

“Hats off to Havant. I thought their team bullied us, not in a nasty way, but an organised way.

“Especially with their No 8 being sin-binned, I felt that was an area to go forward.

“When we didn’t, that cost us the game.”

“The players will know they didn’t play well today, but it is November and there is still a lot of rugby to be played.

“It comes down to desire. We proved that we wanted to win, but errors cost us.

“Even today we still tried to play, and we won’t change the way we play because of one result.

“We know we are a good side. Good sides don’t go bad over night.”
