AN ice hockey game has been called off this evening (March 24) due to an issue with the rink.
Oxford City Stars were due to go up against Slough Jets Ice Hockey Club at the Oxford Ice Rink in Oxpens Road at 6.15pm.
However, due to issues with the ice plant malfunctioning, the ice has gone too soft and the rink has been forced to close.

An ice plant is needed to maintain temperature and keep the ice frozen, the system pumps glycol around a series of pipes set into the concrete under the rink.
