OXFORDSHIRE Over 50s B bid to win the Southern Counties Seniors Championship for an historic third year in a row.

The side, who were only formed in 2015, face Bedfordshire at Marlborough today, starting at 12pm.

Victory would see Oxon become the first team to clinch the championship three years on the spin and would improve their overall record to 34 wins in 37 games.

They advanced to the final with a seven-wicket triumph over Gloucestershire at Aston Rowant.

After being inserted, the visitors were dismissed for 166, Neil Wilkins and Stuart Bullen taking three wickets apiece.

Despite losing an early wicket, Steven Bowles (71no) and Sam Mendes (51) then saw Oxon to 168-3 with ten overs to spare.
