OXFORD United recorded their first win of the FA Women’s National League South season when beating OPR 3-0 away from home.
First-half strikes from Georgia Timms and Flo Fyfe, sandwiched by an own goal, saw the U’s bounce back from their opening-day defeat by Chichester City.
The visitors started well and opened the scoring from the penalty spot on 25 minutes after a handball in the area, Timms netting from 12 yards.
It was soon 2-0 to United as Kerry Walklett’s cross was turned in by a QPR defender.
And United led by three at half-time when Fyfe found the top corner from 25 yards.
U’s goalkeeper Lucy Thomas made a fine double save after the break.
Substitute Lauren Allison came close to making it 4-0 late on, but saw her half-volley hit the crossbar.
Oxford Utd: Thomas, Stroem, Bent, Haynes, Lynch, Noble, Baker, Fyfe, Walklett (Moody 82), Timms, Hennessy (Allison 70).
Subs not used: Cox, Colley.
