ROSS MacDonald and Lewis Hayden fired Didcot Town to a 2-1 friendly win at home to Oxford City.
The first half turned out to be an even encounter at a rain-soaked Loop Meadow Stadium.
But Didcot took the lead two minutes before the break when MacDonald headed home Matty Woodley’s cross.
The home side doubled their lead on 47 minutes when Seth Humphries’s reverse ball found Hayden, who drilled past goalkeeper Craig Hill.
City pulled a goal back with five minutes to go when a shot deflected off Joel Thompson.
Meanwhile, Conor McDonagh and Jefferson Louis fired Banbury United to a 2-0 victory over Easington Sports.
After the game, Charlie Hawtin signed on for the season, as did Ricky Johnson and Jack Self.
Kidlington’s match at home to Marlow was abandoned at 0-0 due to torrential rain and lightning.
