OXFORDSHIRE will hand Matt Machan a debut as they bid to get back to winning ways when hosting Berkshire at Bicester & North Oxford on Sunday.
The 26-year-old, who plays first-class cricket for Sussex, replaces Richard Kaufman (pictured), who is unavailable, for the Unicorns Counties Trophy match.
Top-order batsman Machan scored 955 County Championship runs in 2015, including three centuries in four-day cricket.
The left-hander also has international pedigree with Scotland, making his one-day debut against Afghanistan in 2013.
He hit a quickfire 83 off 86 balls against a New Zealand XI and featured in the ICC World T20 in India.
Machan is the only change from Oxfordshire’s rain-affected 18-run defeat at Dorset last week.
Jonny Cater’s side aim to pick up their second Group 1 victory of the campaign to boost their chances of finishing in the top two and reaching the quarter-finals.
