BEN Cox ran in a hat-trick of tries as newly-promoted Didcot made it back-toback wins with a 41-7 victory over Risborough.

Playing at their new home, Boundary Park, Didcot ran in seven tries in the BB&O Premier encounter.

They led 24-0 at half-time, thanks to scores from Cox, Stephen Stone, John Madley and Alex Cleminson.

Josh Witts converted twice.

Cox then crossed for his second try, before Witts went over to make it 34-0.

The visitors responded with a converted penalty try, but Cox rounded off the victory with his third score, which Witts converted.

In the Championship, Oxford earned a 23-18 win at Faringdon.

Josh Jelfs’s try gave the visitors a 5-0 lead, but the hosts hit back with a converted score.

A Nemani penalty put Oxford back in front, before he collected a cross-field kick to dive over. Ali Gibb then scored a brilliant solo try.

The hosts had James Greenwood and Craig Boyce sin-binned, helping Faringdon set up a nail-biting finish.

A penalty and converted try hauled them to within five points, but Oxford held on.
