ROB Owen hit an unbeaten century as Faringdon bounced back to hammer Charlbury by seven wickets in Division 1 of the OCA League.

Batting first, Charlbury struggled to 185 all out, Alex Robinshaw taking 4-49 and Ben Marks 3-31.

Graham Atkins top-scored with 53.

Leaders Faringdon wasted little time in racing to 189-3 as Owen smashed 107 not out.

Minster Lovell also returned to winning ways.

Youngster Luke Dick took his league best figures of 4-25 as Oxenford were all out for 159.

Harry Ebsworth (66), Dave Prosper (43no) and Nathan Harris (37) shone as Minster cruised to 161-2.

Muhammad Adil took 5-18 to help Yarnton & Cowley to a 31-run win over Great Horwood.

Division 2 leaders East & West Hendred went further clear after beating visitors Marsh Gibbon by 135 runs.

Wolvercote suffered a setback after a six-wicket defeat at home to Wantage.

Darren Jones’s 70 not out helped Wolvercote to 206-8, but Barry Martin (94) and Colin Mercer (72) saw Wantage ease to 207-4.

A superb 116 not out from Richard Ingram proved the difference as Chadlington ran out 58-run victors at Witney Swifts.

Ingram dominated Chadlington’s innings of 167 all out, Alfie Saunders taking 5-27.

Swifts were bowled out for 109 as Toby Strong (3-16) and Danny Harding (3-22) shone.

Damien Wiskin’s all-round display helped Wootton & Boars Hill to a 37-run win at home to Broughton & North Newington.

Wiskin scored 82 in Wootton’s 187 all out, Stuart Morgan taking 6-44 for the visitors.

A haul of 4-57 followed for Wiskin as Broughton were bowled out for 150.

In Division 3, the top two both won as Eynsham thrashed hosts Hanborough by eight wickets and Kidlington beat Marcham by 85 runs.

At Hanborough, Sam Jones hit 101 not out to steer Eynsham to 166-2 as they chased down the home side’s 164 all out.

Andy Oliver led the way for Kidlington with 107 in their 283-7 at Marcham.

The hosts were bowled out for 198, Dan Farrant returning 4-47.

Dorchester racked up a formidable 276-2 at home to West Ilsley, but still lost by five wickets in Division 4.

Richard Sharman hit 102 not out, Steve McComb 78 and Adrian Redhead 63 for the hosts, only for Wayne Lyford (78) and Will Wright (65) to lead Ilsley to 278-5.

Ramesh Chennagiri claimed superb figures of 7-39, but finished on the losing side as Minster Lovell 2nd ran out 16-run winners at Deddington.

FOUR wickets apiece for Simon Launder and Julian Easterbrook helped Bampton to a seven-wicket win at Charlbury 2nd and stay top of Division 5.

Launder claimed 4-17 and Easterbrook 4-26 to dismiss the home side for 111.

James Bray (37no) and Grant Print (34) then led Bampton to 112-3.

Hook Norton amassed a huge 303-5 to thrash Chipping Norton 2nd by 178 runs.

Alex Plant top-scored with 83 not out and Richard Knight added 66 for Hooky, who then dismissed Chippy for 125, Adam Bennett taking 5-23.

Craig Wharton’s 91 not out led Garsington to an eight-wicket win at Great Horwood 2nd.

Scott Winskill hammered his second successive league century to help Shrivenham 2nd to an 83-run win at home to East & West Hendred 2nd in Division 6.

Winskill smashed 121 to help Shrivenham to 256-6.

Hendred were never in the hunt as they fell to 173 all out.

Radley 2nd thrashed visitors Faringdon 2nd by 177 runs after an outstanding bowling display from Rezwan Rana.

Muzammil Rehman’s 84 not out helped Radley to 199-5 and the visitors had no answer to Rana’s inspired spell of 6-1 as they were skittled for just 22.

Oxenford 2nd thrashed Kidlington 2nd by nine wickets.

Dev Meena took 4-7 in Kidlington’s 108 all out, before Bharadwaj Ramanathan (49no) and Russell Ewings (48no) led Oxenford to 109-1.

Ducklington’s superb season in Division 7 continued with a 104-run win at home to Witney Swifts 2nd.

Scott Summers (53) and Kane Lewis (51) saw Ducklington to 266-9.

Ryan Lewis returned 6-55 as Swifts were bowled out for 162.

In Division 8, under-strength leaders Stanton Harcourt 2nd crashed to 49 all out and an eight-wicket defeat at Risinghurst 2nd.

Stanton could only field nine men and fell to Silas Pill (3-12) and Graham Drummond (3-17).

Risinghurst then comfortably eased to 51-2 in reply.

Chesterton extended their lead at the top of Division 9 to a massive 110 points after a convincing103-run win at Kennington 2nd.

Pete Whitlock struck 54 in Chesterton’s 163 all out, before the hosts were dismissed for 60.

OXENFORD 2nd booked their place in the final of the Steve Dixon Trophy with a 39-run home win over Kidlington 2nd.

The hosts were in trouble on 67-6, with Sahil Kalyan taking 3-14.

But they were rescued by a seventh-wicket partnership between Dev Meena (74no) and Kuppu Sengottuvel to post 180-7.

Joe Manktelow (5-23) and Rafi Kakar (3-22) then bowled well as Kidlington were dismissed for 130 – short of the rain-adjusted target of 169.

Oxenford face Hook Norton, who beat Tetsworth 2nd by 90 runs, in the final on August 14.
