OXFORDSHIRE endured a difficult afternoon at St Austell with Cornwall in control after the first day of their Western Division clash.
The visitors were hoping to begin their Unicorns Counties Championship bid in a positive manner.
But after restricting Cornwall to 226-8 just after lunch, Brad Wadlan, who hit 191 of 189 balls, proved the thorn in their side.
His ninth-wicket stand of 121, with Andrew Libby, helped the hosts recover to 349 all out.
Oxon were struggling on 16-3, before Jonny Cater and Richard Kaufman’s fourth-wicket stand of 52.
But when they were dismissed, and John Barrett went for a duck, Oxon were in trouble at 82-6.
Lloyd Brock and Luke Ryan stopped the slide, closing on 107-6.
