ASTON Rowant landed the derby spoils with a four-wicket victory over Thame Town in a low-scoring affair.

But they made hard work chasing down a poor total of 88 after Leo Bethell had taken 4-12.

Rowant put Thame in and wasted little time restricting them to 19-3 in the Division 2 encounter.

Gordon Harris (3-34) dismissed openers Mike Higgs and Matt MacDonald, before Wes Morrick took the wicket of Michael Beard.

Will Sutcliffe (32) offered a slight reprieve, but when he was dismissed by Bethell, the tail crumbled as the visitors lost five wickets for just six runs to finish on 88 in the 20th over.

Rowant made hard work of the run chase as they were quickly restricted to 30-5.

Opener Miles Hammond provided the stability, though, as he carried his bat on 47 to steer the hosts to victory in the 23rd over.

Rameez Raja hit a superb unbeaten century to steer high-flying Horspath to a six-wicket win at Cookham Dean.

Raja made 102 not out off 107 balls as Horspath eased past the home side’s 205-8 with 7.3 overs to spare after Cookham had elected to bat first.

The former Pakistan Twenty20 international, whose runs included two sixes and 14 fours, was well supported in a third-wicket stand of 145 by Robbie Eason (48).

Earlier, Lloyd Belcher (3-21) and Jamil Faruq had triggered a collapse with the hosts tumbling from 85-2 to 118-8 after steady contributions from Patrick Castleden (43) and Yasir Qureshi (40).

Herbert Chikomba (50no) and Wasim Ahmed (41no) salvaged the innings with an unbroken ninth-wicket stand of 87, but it was not enough.

Oxford edged to a three-wicket victory at Amersham.

After electing to field, Oxford dismissed the hosts for 222, with Faisal Khalid taking 5-43.

Amersham had looked well-placed on 170-4, but they lost six wickets in the space of 52 runs.

Oxford’s reply did not get off to the best of starts, but George Munsey (71) and Shabaz Alam (50) combined for a third-wicket partnership of 79 to get the visitors back on track at 104-3.

Shami Mendis (38no) was on hand to help them to victory with five balls to spare.

Shipton-under-Wychwood fell to a heavy eight-wicket defeat to Datchet.

Andrew Hemming top-scored with just 28 off 96 balls as they were all out for 90.

The visitors were always comfortable and reached the total in the 14th over.
