GREAT & Little Tew captain Andy Harris hopes his side can build on last week’s brilliant victory when they visit Finchampstead tomorrow.

The west Oxfordshire side beat Harefield by six wickets in Division 1 of the Home Counties Premier League after the visitors set a total of 319-9.

Dain Moreton scored 141 and Curtly Slatter 90 in what Harris described as “one of the best batting performances” he has seen in his time at the club.

But the Tew skipper knows his side, who sit fourth in the table, will need to maintain that level of performance this weekend.

He said: “I am not going to take our position for granted and Finchampstead had a victory against Tring Park last week.

“We got the better of them last year and I am not expecting an easy game by any stretch of the imagination.”

Matt Woods and Jordan Garrett come in for Harrison Smith and Robbie Shurmer, while Ashley Hubbert is named in a 12-man squad.

Lloyd Sabin says Banbury will not be resting on their laurels when they host Tring Park.

The early leaders beat champions High Wycombe by 37 runs last weekend, but skipper Sabin knows his side have to keep the hammer down if they are to make it five wins in a row.

He said: “It was a massive win, but it means nothing if we don’t get a result this week.

“We have been trying to win the bigger games and we have done that, so it has been a good start.”

Opener Hugo Darby misses out after having his wisdom teeth removed, so Josh Megson comes in.
