OXFORDSHIRE will almost certainly be without Oxford George Munsey for their Unicorns Trophy Group 1 match against Dorset at Bicester & North Oxford on Sunday (11am).

Munsey was hospitalised with tonsillitis this week and is unlikely to be fit.

Oxon have yet to decide on his replacement, but are otherwise unchanged following their agonising three-run defeat by Berkshire at Wargrave on Sunday.

Despite having lost their first two matches, Luke Ryan’s side still have an outside chance of qualifying from their group, although a victory over the unbeaten leaders would give them a chance.

Ryan blamed the bowling attack for their loss against Berkshire.

“It’s all too easy to look at the batting, but I felt we gave 20 or 30 more than we should have done,” said the skipper.

The bowler to suffer most was the normally effective Chad Keegan, who conceded runs from his ten overs.

“That can happen some times,” said Ryan. “Chad’s an attacking bowler and was on at the death when the runs were flowing.”

Oxon’s final group tie is against Cornwall at Werrington on May 22.

Oxon squad: Ryan (Banbury) capt, Cater (Buckingham), Darby (Banbury), Kaufman (Old Northamptonians), Keegan (unattached), Munsey (Oxford, Northants & Scotland), Rooney (Thame Town), Sabin (Banbury), Stephens (Oxford), West (Banbury), Wright (Banbury), AN Other.
