Alchester put the previous week’s nightmare when they conceded more than 100 points, behind them to beat 27-18 Risborough in the Berks, Bucks & Oxon Premier League.
The hosts achieved this without captain, Matthew Flegg, and linchpin Daniel Kimber, who was serving a one-match ban.
They led 16-5 at the break, scoring a try through tight head prop Jamie Lee, while skipper Adam White landed three penalties and a conversion.
In the second half, George Williams scored the hosts’ second try, with White adding two penalties.
Gosford All Blacks came from behind to win 20-13 away to Crowthorne.
After playing against the wind in the first half, Gosford trailed 10-3, with Tim Ellis landing a penalty, while the hosts scored a try through centre Olly Powell, plus a conversion and penalty from Doug Charman.
In the second half, a try by Liam Beesley, converted by Ellis, levelled the scores.
Charman restored Crowthorne’s lead with a penalty, but tries by flankers Dan Hughes and Eugene Griffin saw Gosford home.
Abingdon beat visitors Slough 25-10 with a four-try show for their eighth win.
Their scores came from Jake Faulkner, Robert Tyreman, Luke Mathews and a late effort from Dale Cross. Mark Roberts added a penalty and conversion.
A brace of tries from John Madley gave Didcot a 5-15 victory over Berkshire Shire Hall in the BB&O Championship with Josh Witts adding a penalty and a conversion.
This match also doubled as an RFU Junior Vase fixture, so Didcot progress to the Southern Counties final against either Winslow or Pewsey Vale.
