OXFORDSHIRE Girls Under 15s won a thrilling third-place play-off with five balls to spare to beat Kent in the Royal London County Cup finals by three wickets.
After losing by two runs against Yorkshire in the semi-final, Oxon bounced back with Charley Noble and Georgia Haworth seeing them home in the last over.
In the third-place play-off, Sophie Mitchelmore claimed 3-20 as Oxon bowled Kent out for 146.
Oxon slipped to 58-3, but Mitchelmore and Rebecca Woodnorth’s partnership of 54 steadied the ship.
When they both fell at 119-5, wickets soon began to tumble but tailenders Noble and Haworth ensured victory.
In the semi-final, Jacqui Mayho took 3-1 as Yorkshire were dismissed for 119.
However, Oxon struggled in reply and despite a last-wicket partnership of 21 between Miranda Edwards and Lucy Grain, the former was run out on the last ball.
