GEORGE Reid and Jordan Garrett were in fine form as Oxfordshire Under 17s recorded convincing league and cup victories over Herefordshire.

Captain Reid led from the front in the Royal London Under 17 Cup match at Stonesfield, smashing 141 in a crushing 233-run win.

And Garrett followed in his footsteps, hammering a magnificent 178 off 152 balls, as Oxon went onto beat Herefordshire by an innings and 133 runs in the ECB County Championship at Radley College.

Left-arm swing bowler Matt Brown took 12 wickets across both matches.

In the cup, a large margin of victory was needed to keep Oxon in with a chance of making the semi-finals for a third successive season, and they produced a superb display to move up to second in the group.

Reid remained at the crease for virtually the entire innings, before finally falling for 141 from 133 balls, hitting 18 fours and two sixes.
