BANBURY Bulls finished third in Midlands 2 West (South) after a thrilling 24-24 draw with Spartans.

Jed Boyle’s converted try put Bulls ahead, before Andy Hyslop replied for the visitors.

Banbury’s Josh Deegan snatched a speculative kick to dive over, but Eddy Phillips’ conversion attempt was charged down.

Spartans forced their way over to reduce the deficit to two points, before Bulls extended their lead to 19-10 when Carl Davies crossed for a converted score.

Deegan touched down for his second for 24-10, but Spartans came storming back to earn a well-deserved draw.

A kick-ahead eluded the Bulls defence and led to a converted try, before they conceded again in the last moments of the match.
