OXFORDSHIRE will hold an open trial session as they prepare for the upcoming County Championship Shield campaign.

The event will take place at Oxford RFC on Wednesday, March 26 under the eyes of head coach Craig Burrows and assistant James Cathcart.

“Players can just turn up if they or their club think they are capable of playing at that level,” said Burrows.

“It will be a non-contact session as we don’t want to send any players back to clubs injured at this stage of the season.

“Hopefully we can build on the last game versus Berkshire, especially with Surrey no longer in our pool.

“We definitely have a stronger group to pick from this year.”

Oxon visit Berkshire in their Pool 3 opener on Saturday, May 10.
