Chloe Morris, 12, picked up the swimmer of the match award as Witney finished third in the opening Chiltern League’s opening gala at Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire.
It was her reward for her efforts and personal best times in the 14 & under 50m butterfly and open 100m individual medley.
The runners-up were open swimmer Nick Anstee for his victory in the 50m butterfly and second place in 100m freestyle, where he set personal best times, and Harry Watkins for his efforts and personal best time in the 14 & under 50m butterfly.
There were three ‘too fast’ swims from Ella Frost (10yrs 50m breaststroke), James Plumridge (10yrs 50m free-style) and 4x50 men’s open freestyle relay (Harry Black, Ashley Moss, Nick Anstee and Jack Possee).
Gala result: 1 Linslade Crusaders 193pts, 2 Henley 172, 3 Witney 168, 4 Banbury 158, 5 Aylesbury 145, 6 Bletchley 128.
