Oxford United game washed out

OXFORD United's game against Fleetwood Town today has been postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

An official assessed the playing surface at the Kassam Stadium this morning and deemed it unsuitable. Rain is forecast for the rest of the day, so conditions were only going to deteriorate.

The game will be postponed to a midweek fixture in the new year, so Oxford United will not kick-off their festive fixtures until the trip to Exeter City on Boxing Day.

Several other games have fallen victim to the wet weather, including Oxford City's home game against Histon, plus the nopower League Two fixtures at York, Wycombe and Torquay.

Wycombe's game off too now and I'd gues they've had similar conditions to us.

It certainly cannot help - never had this problem in the past. But with the guy in charge only giving the pitch 6 out of 10 earlier in the week, it was inevitable after all this rain

Sack the clown who looks after pitch it shows we are not ready for anything other than div 2/ bsp reading and swindon games go ahead and they have had same rainfall as us it's embarrassing
