Zebra meets a Bully
*
This new baby zebra, left, at Cotswold Wildlife Park has already started to earn his stripes. Staff at the wildlife park near Burford were thrilled when the first baby zebra for eight years was born there last month. But delight turned to dismay when the fragile foal got injured a couple of days after it was born on August 12. On August 14, keepers let the baby zebra out of his pen for the first time to develop some strength in his legs but he was promptly bitten by his father - and tossed into the air by a rhino, nicknamed Bully by staff. The male foal now has a bandaged left leg and is being kept under observation by a vet at the wildlife centre.
