THE Charlbury farmers market is the first in the county to sign up to a 'Just Ask' campaign promoting locally sourced food.
The campaign, run by the Country Landowners' Association, aims to reduce imported meat, dairy, and other food products by urging customers to support home-grown.
The Charlbury market, set up in 2001, is held every three months, and joint organiser Nick Potter says: "The 'Just Ask' campaign is perfect for the market.
"We are only too pleased if people ask us questions about the products on our stalls, because the provenance of what we sell is what makes us distinctive compared with the supermarkets."
