A NURSERY that cares for more than 120 children in Oxford is helping youngsters to develop independence, Ofsted has said.
Bright Horizons Park Day Nursery and Preschool, located in Oxford Business Park in Cowley, has been rated 'good' by the education regulator.
Ofsted's report published yesterday said: "Staff encourage children to be independent learners.
"Children explore their surroundings and use their imaginations.
"Staff encourage children to be independent. For example, they learn to dress themselves and to use the toilet."
The nursery currently looks after 121 youngsters up to the age of four, and employs 29 staff members.
An Ofsted inspector visited the nursery at the end of January, and judged its provision to match its second-best standard of 'good'.
This is a continuation of the nursery's last rating, which was awarded in 2015.
Ofsted's report was also positive about leadership and staff training.
It stated: "The leadership and management team uses robust recruitment procedures and monitors staff suitability throughout the year."
The inspector said children were mostly 'confident and independent, adding: "All children are ready to move on to the next stage of their education.
"They happily explore and investigate their surroundings.
"Children develop good social skills and make friends.
"They are happy and interact well with one another and staff."
