AN OXFORDSHIRE toddler group is raising money for bereaved children with a week of Valentine’s-themed live music events.
Musical Mayhem, which runs ‘multi-sensory’ music classes for babies and toddlers, will donate all money for cake served this week to child bereavement charity SeeSaw.
The charity provides specialist support and counselling to grieving children and young people and their families.
Musical Mayhem co-owner Monica Nelson is organising the event in memory of her sister, Angela Clare, who was a teacher at St Aloysius Primary School in Oxford.
The mother-of-two, who was known as Miss Sloan at the school, died of cancer in January 2014, aged 39.
Mrs Nelson said: “Our whole world changed very suddenly and forever the day my sister was diagnosed with terminal cancer. My family is eternally grateful to SeeSaw for stepping in and guiding us and her children through the tragedy.”
The children are singing songs about hearts, diamonds, teddy bears and princesses, with live musical accompaniment. Tea and cake will be served after the music with all donations to SeeSaw.
Special classes have already been held at Thame and Hadden this week, and more are taking place at Watlington Sports Pavilion today, Chinnor Village Hall tomorrow and Princes Risborough Community Centre on Friday.
