STUDENTS and staff at Oxford Brookes University will raise the Pride Flag on Monday signalling the start of a month-long programme of events to support LGBT+ History Month.
The events are based on this year’s theme 'Geography: Mapping Our World'.
It will includes a talk by Antonia Bright, national spokesperson of the Movement for Justice (MFJ), a quiz night for Oxford City Amnesty International, poetry evening with Brookes Poetry Centre and Oxford Human Rights Festival on the theme of 'Identity' and a Documentary Club screening of Two Soft Things, Two Hard Things.
Professor Anne-Marie Kilday, pro vice-chancellor for staff experience, said: “LGBT+ History Month gives us all the opportunity to reflect on how our identities and communities relate to our local and global context, and broaden our understanding of people’s experiences."
