AN ACADEMY Award winner helped judge this year’s Oxfordshire schools’ Film Festival.
Niv Adiri, who won the accolade as sound engineer on Hollywood blockbuster Gravity, lent his expertise to the event at Wheatley Park School.
Oxford film-maker Sharon Woodward and head of film at Oxford’s SAE Institute media school Helen McGregor joined Mr Adiri to judge films from seven schools.
Teenagers from Cheney School, Cherwell School and St Gregory the Great School in Oxford, King Alfred’s Academy in Wantage, Marlborough School in Woodstock and Wheatley Park School attended the award ceremony on Thursday.
Wheatley Park year 13 pupil Shakur Gabbidon-Williams, hosted the event, and said: “It was a bit nerve-wracking, but I got into it about halfway.”
King Alfred’s took the awards for best overall production, for its film Braille, and best fiction for its movie Anorexia Awareness, while Marlborough School pupils won best music video with Lost, and best camerawork for Recurring.
