AN OXFORD school’s new £3.3m science and maths building has been opened.
The Pamela Morris building has been built to commemorate St Clare’s 60th anniversary and is named after one of the school’s founders.
It includes three laboratories, three maths classrooms and a new maintenance facility.
Paula Holloway, principal of St Clare’s, in Banbury Road, said: “The college has a limited number of large classrooms and we were facing the problem of lack of space – something not easy to overcome in this conservation area of North Oxford.

“We have succeeded in transforming a small, awkward piece of land into a first-class teaching facility, which will be enjoyed by students and which will enhance their learning. We’re delighted with the results.”
The building was opened on Thursday by Professor Roger Ainsworth, Master of St Catherine’s College.
