ABOUT 150 culture vultures from an Abingdon school set off on a bizarre nocturnal adventure last night.
The pupils and teachers from St Helen and St Katharine School, in Faringdon Road, joined Maggie’s Culture Crawl in London.
Setting off from the Foreign Office in King Charles Street, they walked 15 miles through the capital, visiting the Serpentine Sackler Gallery, via Fulham Palace.
They were given exclusive access to those buildings and others, encountered some surprise performance artists and were given food and drink to sustain them along the way.

The girls used their evening stroll to raise money for Maggie’s cancer support centre at Oxford’s Churchill Hospital. The £3m centre, which opened in July, offers practical and emotional support to cancer sufferers and their relatives.
Maggie’s Culture Crawl is organised in partnership with Open House London, which has opened 800 buildings to the public this weekend.
